Thursday brought a welcome change in weather for residents of Delhi-NCR as strong winds and heavy rains swept through several areas, providing relief from the intense heat. The skies turned overcast with dense clouds, and the ensuing downpour, accompanied by gusty winds, created a pleasant atmosphere.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the next two days, predicting rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds in certain regions. The department advises people to stay updated with weather forecasts and warnings.
Meanwhile, the IMD has also announced the onset of the southwest monsoon in Kerala, marking the official start of the four-month-long monsoon season in the country. According to the weather department, the monsoon is expected to gradually advance to other parts of the nation in the coming days.
Experts suggest that the rainfall experienced in Delhi-NCR will lead to a drop in temperatures, offering much-needed respite from the scorching heat that has plagued the region in recent days.
